What to Bring to Vote in Texas: Photo ID Requirements

Texas law requires an approved photo ID to vote. Accepted forms include:

Your ID does not need to show your current address. If you have no acceptable ID, you may vote with a Reasonable Impediment Declaration — ask your poll worker.

Midland County Voting FAQ

Can I vote at any location, or do I have to go to my home precinct?

Any of them. Midland County operates as a vote-center county, so a registered Midland County voter can cast a ballot at any of the 16 Election Day vote centers, regardless of which precinct they live in.

What if I'm still in line when polls close at 7pm?

You still get to vote. Under Texas law, anyone in line at the official closing time must be allowed to cast a ballot. Don't leave the line.

Do I need to bring my voter registration card?

No. You only need an approved photo ID. Your voter registration certificate is helpful but not required.

What if I don't have an accepted photo ID?

You can vote by signing a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and presenting an alternative form of ID (such as a utility bill, bank statement, government check, or voter registration certificate). Ask any poll worker — they're trained to walk you through it.

Is curbside voting available?

Yes, at every Election Day vote center. If walking into the polling site would be a hardship, stay in your car and have someone notify a poll worker — or call the Midland County Elections Office at (432) 688-4890.

I voted in the March 3 primary. Can I vote again in the runoff?

Yes — if you voted in the Republican primary, or if you didn't vote at all in March, you can vote in the Republican runoff. Texas does not require party registration. The only restriction is that you cannot vote in the Republican runoff if you voted in the March Democratic primary.

Can I vote by mail?

Only if you qualify — you must be 65 or older, disabled, confined in jail but otherwise eligible, expecting to give birth within three weeks of Election Day, or away from the county during the entire voting period. The deadline to apply for a mail ballot was Friday, May 15, 2026. Completed mail ballots must be received (not just postmarked) by 7:00 PM on May 26.

Why Re-Elect Dianne Anderson?

Dianne Anderson, incumbent Midland County Commissioner, Precinct 4

Dianne Anderson is a lifelong Midlander who has delivered proven, conservative results for Precinct 4 — and she's not done yet.

  • Infrastructure wins: Helped secure the I-14 and I-27 interstate designations through Midland-Odessa — safer roads, stronger freight corridors, real economic impact.
  • Taxpayer accountability: Brought the Horseshoe facility back under county oversight, restoring fiscal discipline and transparency.
  • Flood & drainage progress: Moved long-stalled flood-drainage projects into construction — protecting families and property in Precinct 4.
  • Family-first leadership: Stood up for parental rights and age-appropriate library standards across Midland County.
  • Service rooted in Midland: MISD School Board, St. Ann's Parish Council, Rotary International District Governor, Junior League Public Policy — decades of community leadership before, during, and beyond her time on Commissioners Court.
